Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne’s Alpine Spa Opens

The Bürgenstock Hotels & Resort Lake Lucerne has announced that its Alpine Spa opened on November 6, 2017, complete with an infinity pool, private spa suites, treatment rooms, and other facilities.

Offering views of the lake and the Swiss Alps, the spa is constructed of Luserna stone from Italy offset by oak, brass, and glass walls. The 107,000-square foot complex has three levels, with facilities like treatment rooms, three private spa suites, wet areas with hammam, sauna, whirlpools and hydrotherapy, a 24-hour fitness center and a Kids Club.

Heated to 95 degrees Fahrenheit, the 1,383-foot long outdoor infinity pool wraps around the two sides of the spa building, offering panoramic views of the Alps; the 69-foot indoor pool still allows for scenic views as well with windows on three sides. The “Hollywood Pool,” used for celebrity parties in the 50’s, is located next to the Spa Garden.

In the Relaxation Room, the designated silent zone, guests can unwind in loungers, waterbeds, and sofas in front of an open fire. The room’s floor-to-ceiling windows give guests an open view of the Alpine landscape. Right next door in the Spa Lounge, there are rooms for meetings, private conversations, and relaxation. From here, guests can move on to the hot and cold Kneipp baths, a large Alpine Rasul bath with seating niches, a saline bath, and two infra-red cabins and nap shells.

The Alpine Spa also offers a clothing-free spa zone for women and men 16 years and older, plus a women-only Ladies’ Spa that is also clothing-free. Both spas have cold and warm water pools, Jacuzzis, herbal steam baths, rock showers, aroma saunas and relaxation rooms.

On the second floor is the spa’s 24-hour fitness center, complete with personal trainers, training equipment, weights and a studio for aerobics, yoga, Pilates, dance, boxing and other group fitness classes. Spinning, yoga and other classes are held on the exterior terrace

The Bürgenstock Outdoors activity center can organize hiking, biking, climbing, rafting, canoeing, rowing, waterskiing, sailing, fishing, horseback riding, archery, hot air ballooning, paragliding and more. Plus, in winter, the resort offers curling and ice skating.

On the third level, guests will find the three Private Spa Suites. Each suite has a private lounge area, changing room, showers, sauna, steam, Jacuzzi, and a treatment room for two. The Kids Club provides child care during the day for children 3 to 12 with areas designated for playing, sleeping, and eating.
