Warning - this article contains major spoilers for The White Lotus season 3 finale

Mike White, the creator of The White Lotus, may have already dropped a hint about which cast member could return in the fourth season.

The HBO murder mystery satire has so far followed three different groups of wealthy guests at resorts in various global locations - Hawaii, Italy and Thailand.

Although the drama is primarily an anthology series with a new set of characters each season, Greg Hunt (portrayed by Jon Gries) has been a consistent character throughout all three seasons.

Additionally, Greg's hapless and extremely affluent wife, Tanya McQuoid (Jennifer Coolidge), featured in the first two seasons before her character was killed off in the second, reports the Mirror US.

Furthermore, the most recent outing saw the return of spa manager Belinda Lindsey (Natasha Rothwell), who recognised Greg but accepted a substantial bribe to remain silent about his involvement in Tanya's death.

Despite Greg escaping punishment again in the third season, fans anticipate that the storyline will continue in some form, with at least one returning cast member appearing in another White Lotus location.

Fans are now speculating that showrunner White has hinted at the comeback of Victoria Ratliff (Parker Posey) when the series returns for its already confirmed fourth season.

In a revealing interview released after the finale's broadcast on HBO last Sunday (6th April), White delved into the fate of the Ratliff family, who find themselves in dire straits following the exposure of Timothy's (Jason Isaacs) embezzlement.

"It's kind of a bittersweet ending where life goes on past this personal valley," he shared. "But what's going to happen to them without all their comforts...?

"I don't think Victoria is someone who can live in poverty. I'm sure she can find some other solution."

Victoria had earlier admitted to Timothy that the thought of living without wealth was unbearable for her.

Now faced with the prospect of losing her luxurious lifestyle, Mike's subtle hint suggests Victoria might have another plan up her sleeve to maintain her opulent way of life.

This suggestion, along with the showrunner's remark about the Ratliffs' ongoing saga, has led some fans to speculate that Posey will reprise her role as Victoria in future episodes, whether or not Timothy and her family are involved.

One enthusiast speculated on Reddit: "Mike White's allusion that she'll figure it out (Victoria) gives me hope she's in S4."

Echoing this sentiment, another viewer on Threads said: "At the end of the episode Mike White mentioned that he thinks Victoria is not somebody that can live in poverty and that he was sure 'she would find some other solution'.

"So I'm hoping this is a hint that she will be on season 4 with a new wealthy husband."

On the social platform X (formerly Twitter), a user speculated: "If I know anything, I know that Parker Posey is coming back for white lotus season 4."

Another enthusiast seemed certain about the show's future casting, saying: "Mike White basically confirming Parker Posey w/new husband season 4, we love it."

The question remains whether these fans are onto something or if season four of White Lotus might surprise viewers with the return of an unexpected character from past seasons, or maybe even feature an entirely new cast. Watch this space for updates.
