We asked our readers to vote on their favourite spa in Ireland for 2018. The result is in, and baby, it’s pampering time…

Ireland's favourite spa

Winner: Monart Spa, Eniscorthy, Co. Wexford

There was no debating this one. Monart got nearly seven times the votes of its closest competitor, putting the five-star destination spa head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to our readers’ favourite pampering palaces.

“Monart hands down,” you said. “Purpose-built with top class treatments and service,” you added, hailing “a wonderful place to chill and relax.”

One reader dubbed it “my favourite present to get in the Christmas stocking,” another that it “made me feel like a goddess”.

Monart “epitomises what a spa should be,” readers said, with several adding that, once ensconced, you “never want to leave.”

“I have travelled extensively to many continents over the years,” another reader told us. “But there are few trips that excite me more than being in my car, on the way to Monart Spa.”

This is the second year running that Monart has won this award, and judges noted its polished marketing and management as key to that success.

Monart Destination Spa on Mother's Day

“While it can seem expensive at first, their packages are actually really good value,” you told us, adding creature comforts like “wandering around in your dressing gown” and “a gorgeous cloud of a bed to sleep in.”

Monart is Ireland’s “hidden paradise”.

Your say

“For a hotel break, we normally pick somewhere himself can play golf while I visit the spa, so he was not impressed when I told him there was no golf... Not long after arriving at Monart, he was asking why we hadn’t stayed before. Now, he’s a spa convert…”
