Hilton – Playa Deal Latest in Mexico All-Inclusive News

News of Hilton’s new partnership with Playa Hotels & Resorts capped a busy few months for new all-inclusive announcements in Mexico.

The deal between the two major hospitality companies will see The Royal Playa del Carmen reflagged under the Hilton brand, becoming the Hilton Playa del Carmen, an All-Inclusive Resort by the end of the year. In the Caribbean, the Dreams La Romana is also rebranding as the Hilton La Romana, an All-inclusive Resort. The two companies say they plan to open eight additional all-inclusive resorts together by 2025.

This November, Palladium Hotel Group is opening two new all-inclusives just north of Cancun in Costa Mujeres. The adults-only TRS Coral Hotel will have 469 guestrooms, each with a balcony or terrace, whirlpool bath and direct access to exclusive swim-up pools. Other amenities will include 24-hour room service, five themed restaurants and the Chic Cabaret & Restaurant. The new property will be a member of Leading Hotels of the World. Also on tap is the family-friendly Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort & Spa, which has nine a la carte restaurants that will be accessible to TRS Coral guests through the brand’s Dine Around program.

Later this year, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts will be opening a new, 13-story tower in its Cancun Golf and Spa Complex. The new tower, which will be adults-only, will be called the Iberostar Cancun Star Prestige, and it will have 154 luxury suites overlooking the shoreline, a new bar, restaurant and pool. The new restaurant will have a capacity of 232 people and will serve buffet-style breakfast and lunch, as well as a la carte dining in the evenings. Also planned are a new hotel in Los Cabos and a second property in Litibu.

Looking further ahead, 2019 will see the debut of the Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos, which just began accepting bookings this week. The 639-room resort will be set on the beach in Cabo San Lucas’ Diamante development, and it will have a number of Hard Rock’s signature music-themed amenities, such as a top-tier “Rock Star Suite,” a Rock Spa, Body Rock fitness center and music memorabilia throughout the property. Guests will also have access to three nearby golf courses designed by Davis Love III and Tiger Woods as part of the Diamante Cabo San Lucas Complex, as well as five swim-up bars, six pools, water slides, eight a-la-carte dining options and three lounges — Sun Bar, Moon Lounge and Club Heaven.

2019 will also see the debut of the Planet Hollywood Cancun, the second property for Planet Hollywood’s new resort brand, which is being developed in partnership with Sunwing Travel Group. The Cancun resort, which is set to open in spring 2019, will incorporate interactive touch-screen digital displays narrating the memorabilia experience and PHTV in-suite and throughout the resort, keeping guests up-to-date with live streaming of events and activities.

Later in 2019, AMResorts will debut the Now Natura Riviera Cancun, the first new build for the Now brand in the Riviera Maya. The 534-room beachfront resort plans to cater to Millennial travelers. It will be followed by the 407-room Secrets Marina Resort & Spa in the Marina El Cid development north of Playa del Carmen in 2020, and the 200-room Secrets Punta de Mita Resort & Spa and the 415-room Dreams Punta de Mita Resort & Spa in late 2020.
