Design, sustainability, comfort, and style are all part of the judging criteria for AFAR Media’s annual list of the best new hotels. In 2023, the list had 15 hotels located around the world. However, this year, that number has grown to 31, five of which are in the United States.

Each year, the selection is based on the expert input of travel advisors, hotel representatives, editors, and writers. The highly-regarded list showcases properties that set the standard in new hotels, from their cuisine and style to all-around likability. Featuring five U.S.-based hotels, from New York to Hawaii, here are the best new domestic hotels, according to AFAR.
